ISO QUALITY POLICY STATEMENT

Northstar ensures continual improvement of policy and process through:

• Actively monitoring industry standards, requirements & regulations.
• Establishing and reviewing a strategic plan (including core values, purpose, targets, goals, actions, theme)

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Northstar’s goal is to be successful in providing an accident free work place for everyone employed within and involved with the company.   

All employees and management of Northstar are responsible for the development and maintenance of our safety program by:

• Complying with all regulatory requirements.
• Communicating all safety hazards to employees, contractors and visitors.
• Providing training and equipment to employees.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

Northstar follows the Guideline for Professional Practice Management Plan as outlined by The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
The objectives of Northstar's professional practice management program are:

• To maintain high levels of technical competence and professionalism
• To ensure a consistency of performance
• To acquire additional skills and knowledge as required
• To ensure compliance with all applicable standards and guidelines as well as with all regulatory, legal and contractual obligations
• To identify lines of professional responsibility and establish reporting procedures

Northstar is committed to conducting its practice in accordance with the standards of ethical behaviour as described in APEGA’s Guideline for Ethical Practice.  Ethical conduct shall be observed in all professional work and, more generally, in any public forum.  This shall also apply where the work is carried out in jurisdictions outside of Alberta or Canada.  In addition, local standards, human rights codes, including linguistics and cultural sensitivity shall be observed.  Courtesy and politeness shall be the rule.

Continuous Safety Improvement

Our safety program undergoes quality reviews during our annual ISO certification process. Our commitment to creating a safe and accident free workplace extends to the annual audit required to maintain our status in the Partners for Safety Program as administered by the Alberta (Canada) Government and ENFORM Canada safety standards.
