Operation:
The PTFV is run in hole with a mandrel holding the flapper valve in the open position. Annular pressure is used to move the mandrel allowing the flapper to act as a check valve. The flapper will shut in the well while retaining the ability to pump through the valve down the tubing. Once the flapper valve has been released from the mandrel it can not be held open again.
Application:
The PTFV can be run as a safety valve providing a backup downhole valve to the Multi Cycle Tester Valve.
