DESCRIPTION:
The Sampler traps a sample of produced fluids and retains the sample at the downhole pressure of the time of capture.
OPERATION:
The sampler has an internal mandrel that is controlled by an annular pressure operated rupture disk. The sampler is run in the hole with the mandrel in a position that allows tubing fluids to freely enter the sample chamber between the mandrel and housing. At the desired time to capture a sample, the rupture disk is burst causing the mandrel to shift. The mandrel is locked in place sealing off the sample chamber from the tubing.
When the tool is out of the hole the fluids in the sample chamber can be safely removed using a bleed valve and port plug assembly.
