Pump Out Sub
The Pump Out Sub is used to circulate fluid from the drill string after the DST has been completed and the drill string is ready to be removed.
The Pump Out Sub consists of a short sub with one or more hollow pins screwed into the sides. These pins project into the sub bore during the course of a test.
Details1002
Hydraulic Valve
The Hydraulic Valve is a down hole valve used in opening and closing the flow from the test zone. The tool gives positive surface indications of opening: a sudden small movement of the drill pipe, combined with a slight reduction in drill pipe weight.
Details1004
Sampler
The Sampler catches a sample of produced fluid and retains the sample at the downhole pressure of the interval at the instant that the hydraulic valve is closed. The valves of the Sampler are opened and closed by the movement of a mandrel extending from the hydraulic valve.
Details2004
Squeeze Tool
The Squeeze Tool is a check valve that opens to balance tubing to annular pressure when the tubing pressure exceeds annular pressure. This prevents supercharging of the formation in the interval while setting packers or opening the downhole hydraulic valve.
Details1010
Recorder Hanger
The Recorder Hanger is used to hang a pressure recorder inside a length of spacing or drill pipe (bomb well).
The Single Recorder Hanger can be run at any location within the test string except between the Infl ate Pump and the bottom packer (on an infl ate test).
Details1006
Extension Joint
The Extension Joint is used to allow free travel of the workstring. This allows operators to get a good indication of hole drag in deviated holes. The Extension Joint also allows free pipe movement before the Hydraulic Valve is operated.
Details2007
Hydraulic Jars
The Hydraulic Jars allow jarring of the test string to aid in the freeing of downhole tools. The jar provides a temporary resistance that allows the drill pipe to be stretched. When the resistance is release, the drill pipe contracts to deliver the impact and freeing force.
Details2005
Safety Joint
The Safety Joint provides a means for releasing from a set of tools that are stuck in the hole.
Details1015
Inflate Pump
The Inflate Pump is a down hole piston pump which delivers drilling fluid from the well bore to the inflate packers. The Inflate Pump is activated by rotating the drilling string at approximately 60 R.P.M.
Details1016
Suction Screen
The Suction Screen filters the larger particles from the drilling mud before it can enter the Inflate Pump.
Details1017
Inflate Release System
The Inflate Release System enables multiple inflate tests without having to come out of the hole after each test.
Details1019
Upper Packer Assembly
The Upper Packer Assembly is designed to serve four functions.
- Mounting of the rubber packer element.
- Delivery or removal of drilling mud to the packer elements during the test inflation and deflation process.
- Inflation of packer elements to seal the top of the test interval.
- Equalization of hydrostatic pressure above and below the test interval.
1020
Dual Recorder Carrier
The Dual Recorder Carrier is designed to be run in the test interval and holds two pressure recorders. Recorders are loaded through loosely fitted doors bolted to the sides of the carrier.
Details1023
Lower Packer Assembly
The Lower Packer Assembly is designed to serve four functions.
- Mounting of the rubber packer element.
- Delivery or removal of drilling mud to the packer elements during the test inflation and deflation process.
- Inflation of packer elements to seal the bottom of the test interval.
- Equalization of hydrostatic pressure above and below the test interval.
2008
Bottom Hole Choke
The Bottom Hole Choke is a short sub that can be located to restrict flow downhole through standard fixed chokes.
Details1024
Drag Spring
The Drag Spring is designed to resists turning in the hole when the drill string is rotated. This resistance transmits torque to power the Inflate Pump.
