3090A - TUBING TESTER VALVE

Pressure test tubing while running in-hole

APPLICATIONS

  • Drill stem testing
  • Well flow operations
  • Casing integrity tests
  • Well kill check valve (Pump Through Flapper Valve configuration)

FEATURES

  • Flapper style
  • Precise rupture disc activation
  • Locked in place once activated

The Tubing Tester Valve (TTV) is a flapper style valve that allows the tubing to fill while running in-hole. At any depth, the tubing can be tested by applying pressure at surface. The TTV is cycled to lock open by applying annulus pressure and rupturing a disc. The operating mandrel shifts up holding the flapper valve in the open position.

The Pump Through Flapper Valve (PTFV) configuration is ran in-hole with the mandrel holding the flapper valve in the open position. Applied annulus pressure ruptures a disc, and the mandrel shifts so that the flapper is now free to close when differential pressure below the valve is greater. This allows fluid to be pumped through the tool from surface, and prevents flow back to surface.
