Drillstem Testers
Northstar has 5 openings for Drillstem Testers. This is a challenging 21 days on/7days off, on-call field technician role servicing all of Western Canada with the possibility of international work. Previous oilfield service/rig experience, communication and customer service skills are an asset. Applicants must be based in the Edmonton, AB area and have a valid driver's license. This is a full-time, year round position.
A day in the life of a Drillstem Tester:
21/7 Rotation: While on-call
- Shop work is performed Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30.
- Call-out's can be immediate, and testers need to be prepared, and available to go in the field.
- We go to drilling rigs to run DST tools in open-hole wells. This typically takes 1 to 2 days.
Service Area
- The majority of our work is in Alberta, however, we routinely perform some work in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
- We have shops in Edmonton, and Grand Prairie. It is sometimes mandatory for our Edmonton testers to work out of our Grand Prairie shop when necessary.
- We are rapidly expanding to other countries, so international work is likely.
Employment Requirements
- A valid Canadian passport.
- A drivers abstract to be approved by our insurance provider.
- A passed drug screen.
