Main Job Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials and consumables needed for day-to-day operations
  • Maintain facility inventory levels for manufacturing and operations
  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments
  • Enforce QHSE policies and guidelines, with an emphasis on routine inspections
  • Track workflow and manufacturing job status
  • Provide quotes to customers
  • Research new products, materials, and leads
  • Review manufacturing timesheets
  • Perform annual review/ audit of manufacturing
  • Forecast Cost estimates, new project schedule impact, and quarterly/annual scheduling

Skill Requirements

  • 1-5 Years Experience in Energy or Logistics Industry in a similar role
  • Post Secondary Education
  • Supply Chain/Logistics Certification
  • Excellent computer skills; advanced understanding of Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an asset
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset
  • Administrative & Customer Service experience is an asset

The research and development (R&D) team at Northstar creates novel solutions for downhole tools in the oil and gas industry. Our tools can function 10 km below the surface of the earth in hostile high temperature and pressure environments.

The R&D team is a small multidisciplinary group responsible for developing new tools and improving existing designs. We are looking for motivated engineers to join our growing team finding creative solutions to these challenging problems.

The position is based in our Edmonton facility which houses R&D, manufacturing, and testing for downhole tools. International travel and work at field location is possible. Engineers are expected to work on a tool through the entire lifecycle such as: project management, design and analysis, manufacturing support, 3rd party suppliers, shop testing and certification, field trials, training, sales, etc.
